United Nations climate change experts are calling for immediate action as global warming continues to impact the planet.

The scientists say that it is vital to stop the average temperature in the world from rising above 1.5 degrees Celsius. The researchers have already registered a 1.0 degree increase. Preventing this rise in temperature will only be possible if “rapid, unprecedented and comprehensive changes in all spheres” are made.

Today, the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC),  presented the report in the South Korean city of Incheon.

By 2030, the level of CO2 emissions must be reduced by 45 percent of what the level was back in 2010. The UN said that all coal-fired electricity must come to an end by 2050.

The 1.0 degree increase has already resulted in extreme weather conditions, melting glaciers and rising sea levels. The increase in temperature above this level, according to the IPCC, can lead to inevitable losses of life and entire ecosystems.
