On the air of FreeDom, Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk said the Ukrainian Armed Forces also hit the Kostiantyn Olshanskyi in addition to the Azov, the Yamal, and the Ivan Khurs.

“This ship was to be used against Ukraine. Therefore, it was decided to hit this unit with our Neptune [Ukrainian anti-ship missile — ed.],” the Ukrainian Navy spokesperson says.

He added that the ship was not “combat-capable”, meaning enough damage was done.

The Konstantin Olshansky was captured by Russia in 2014 when its troops occupied Crimea.

“A detective story revolves around the large landing ship Konstantin Olshansky. Let me remind you that this is a Ukrainian landing ship seized by the Russian occupiers in 2014. For nine years, it had been moored in Sevastopol Bay. They dismantled it for spare parts. They were just looting it.

And in the tenth year, they realised that they were running out of landing ships for this project and decided to restore it. And within a year, it was restored, but the purpose of these works was to create a falsification in order to report to the Moscow leadership on how they had restored one of their allegedly ‘own’ large landing ships…”told Pletenchuk.

On March 24, the AFU StratСom reported a missile strike targeting Russian occupiers in Crimea. It resulted in Russian Azov and Yamal of the Black Sea Fleet and a major communication center being destroyed. Later, a statement about hitting the Ivan Khurs reconnaissance ship was made.
