Ships of the Russian Federation Navy (RF Navy) do not dare to enter the northwestern part of the Black Sea due to the danger from the Ukrainian Defense Forces, which can hit targets with both anti-ship missiles and kamikaze drones. Therefore, Russians are actively working to find ways to solve these problems. Military expert Vladislav Seleznev spoke about this on the FREEDOM TV channel.
“The Russian military command is very nervous about the results of the Russian-Ukrainian confrontation regarding the destruction of ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Crisis level situation. Russians no longer dare to enter the northwestern part of the Black Sea, closer to the coast of Odesa, Odesa region. They can fall within the range of our Harpoon or Neptune anti-ship missiles. And, accordingly, our kamikaze drones are not asleep,” he explained.
It is extremely difficult for the Russians to provide logistics for the main base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol.
“This means that Russians need to look for solutions. A number of these paths were voiced just the other day by some leading experts. We are talking about creating additional groups armed with heavy machine guns and anti-aircraft guns, which they plan to place on board ships moving in the Black Sea. We are talking about strengthening booms at the entrances to the waters of bays and ports where Russian ships are located. Finding ways to monitor the water space above the Black Sea,” Seleznev said.
Ukrainian developers are at the final stage of testing underwater attack drones. Therefore, Russians will soon have more reasons to worry about ships in the Black Sea, the expert emphasized.
“Ukrainian production does not stand still. Currently, our developers are in the final stages of testing underwater kamikaze attack drones. It’s a matter of time when it happens that another Russian ship will be sent to the bottom of the Black Sea precisely due to the impact of new decisions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces,” he said.
The authorities of the self-proclaimed Republic of Abkhazia announced the creation of a base for ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet on their territory in the port of Ochamchira. A new location is needed due to Ukrainian attacks on military targets in Sevastopol, Kerch and Novorossiysk. While Ukrainian drones will not be able to overcome such a distance, it is only a matter of time, the military expert is sure.
“It’s a matter of time before our maritime kamikaze attack drones receive such technical characteristics that will allow them to cover a sufficient distance to reach the base in Ochamchira on the territory of self-proclaimed Abkhazia,” he stated.
