An Estonian minister calls on NATO members to intensify counter-measures against Russia.

During his visit to the United States, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, Sven Mikser, said that the violation of the generally accepted principles of international law and the failure of Russia to assume its obligations, requires the strengthening of not only the Baltic States, but also all European NATO members.

Mikser said this at a meeting with the Chairman of the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Edward Royce, and the Latvian and Lithuanian foreign ministers.

“We have always agreed with the U.S. that our European allies should increase their defense spending, and we will surely discuss this issue at the NATO summit in Brussels,” Mikser said.

In his opinion, not only the Baltic States but also the U.S. should be prepared to resist Russian aggression.
