The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba used a proverb to describe relations with Hungary. According to him, “gas is sinful, and the rights of national minorities are righteous”.

This is reported by UA with the reference to Dmytro Kuleba’s briefing.

“In relations with Hungary, it is very important to separate, as the saying goes, not to confuse the sinful with the righteous. Gas is sinful, and protecting national minorities, ensuring the rights of the Ukrainian community in Hungary and the Hungarian community in Ukraine is righteous” – Kuleba said.

He noted that the meeting of the economic commission was postponed indefinitely.

“But we are ready to move forward on the educational track, the protection of the rights of national minorities. We have serious achievements on this track” – the minister stressed.

Dmytro Kuleba assured that Kyiv is ready and striving for full and normal friendly relations with Hungary, which will take into account the national interests of both countries.

To remind, Hungary signed a 15-year contract with Gazprom on the supply of 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas bypassing Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry summoned the Ambassador of Hungary, Istvan Idyarto, due to the signing of a new contract with the Russian Gazprom for the supply of gas bypassing Ukraine. The Hungarian Foreign Ministry also summoned the Ukrainian ambassador in Budapest Lyubov Nepop because of the current situation.
