The Cyber Defenders program for professional development in the sphere of cyber security and reintegration was launched in Ukraine. The task of the program is to help Ukrainian veterans to make a career in a new profession. And to train more cybersecurity specialists, DOM TV reports.

ATO veterans will study anti-virus and spyware programs and learn about hacking methods on the network. It is an initiative of the US Civilian Research and Development Foundation. Out of 500 applicants, 30 people were chosen. The course is designed for 4 months, after which the graduates will receive the state certificates.

“I am improving my knowledge and skills, because I work in the sphere of military communications and feel the need to expand my knowledge of cybersecurity. Therefore, I started to attend these courses”, – ATO veteran Vitaly Lazebnyk told DOM TV.

As head of the department for ensuring the activities of the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity under the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Serhiy Prokopenko noted, ministries, central authorities, strategic enterprises cannot always find qualified specialists.

“Therefore, I think that we have the need of 10%. We will try to fill this gap. This will be the first step”, – said Prokopenko.
