Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset has said that another deadly Russian attack on Kyiv underscores the urgent need to ensure accountability for crimes committed in Ukraine, UATV English reports.
“Another deadly night in Kyiv. Another reminder that accountability cannot remain just a promise. It must become a reality,” Berset wrote on X.
He stressed that the Council of Europe is turning this commitment into concrete action to ensure those responsible for crimes committed in Ukraine are brought to justice.
“At the Council of Europe, we are turning this commitment into concrete action so that those responsible for crimes committed in Ukraine do not escape punishment. Justice is indispensable for a lasting peace,” Berset said.
