Brussels to hold consultations with Kyiv on Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline

The European Commission declares its readiness to hold consultations requested by Kyiv over the further implementation of the Nord Stream-2 project, which threatens Ukraine’s security.

Interfax-Ukraine got a comment from the European Commission, UA reports.

“We have sent a reply to our Ukrainian colleagues expressing our readiness to discuss and continue the ongoing dialogue on energy issues. We are in constant contact with the Ukrainian authorities on many issues, including energy, and look forward to discussing with our Ukrainian counterparts how best to comply with their request for consultation” – they noted in the European Commission.

At the same time, the European Commission noted that the EU “continues considering the issue of Ukraine’s energy security to be of great importance”.

“We are still ready to discuss any issues that concern Ukraine” – they said in Brussels.

Besides, the issue of threat of the “Nord Stream-2” was raised in the U.S. Congress by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba and head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrey Yermak.
