On August 25, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre arrived in Kyiv.
This was reported by the Head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, who welcomed the Prime Minister together with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha. After the meeting with the President of Ukraine, the leaders of the two nations came up with several statements at a joint press conference.
Norway plans to allocate $8.5 billion in aid to Ukraine in 2026.
This was announced by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre during his visit to Kyiv.
“Today I announced that support for Ukraine in 2025 will be extended into 2026. This includes $8.45 billion. I will propose to parliament to allocate this amount,” he said.

According to the president, the Ukrainian side will meet with American partners throughout the week to develop a basic plan for security guarantees.
“Today, there will also be a meeting with Kellogg to continue this discussion, in preparation for a possible upcoming meeting with the Russian side. At the end of the week, there will be a meeting between the Ukrainian and American teams,” the President of Ukraine said at a press conference.

“And this concerns not only electricity and heat generation, but also the production of our natural gas. That is why we greatly appreciate the assistance Norway provides to Ukraine specifically for gas purchases,” the President of Ukraine added.
