Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said this during a press conference.
“There are more than 60 political prisoners, 22 of them, as you know, are held in Russia, others – in the territory of the occupied Crimea,” he said.
At the same time, Klimkin recalls that last year Ukraine managed to “restructure” a platform for the release of political prisoners, and now Ukraine has a direct video link with the occupied Crimea that allows for better communication with families.
In addition, the Minister noted that this year, Ukraine will begin a new 3-year-term, as a member in the UN Human Rights Council. Klimkin said that it will use its position on the Council to continually show the world how Russia violates human rights in the territory of the occupied Crimea and Donbas.
