Norway has contributed an additional €44.6 million (500 million Norwegian kroner) to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, increasing its total contribution to €209.2 million, Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy announced, UATV English reports.

According to the ministry, the latest contribution further strengthens international efforts to support and restore Ukraine’s energy sector amid continued Russian attacks on critical infrastructure.

Since the fund was established, it has received more than €2 billion in grant financing from 39 donors representing 26 partner countries and three international organizations.

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund finances the purchase of equipment and materials needed to repair and protect the country’s energy infrastructure damaged by Russian strikes.

The announcement follows recent additional contributions from other partners, including Denmark and Sweden, as international support for strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience continues.
