The Ukrainian president likely congratulated the American leader on his birthday. The two sides also discussed ideas for further negotiations and other important topics, UATV English reports.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he held a “very good” conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, during which the two leaders discussed efforts to bring peace closer and reviewed the latest developments on the battlefield.
According to Zelenskyy, he congratulated Trump on his birthday and wished him success in his efforts to help end Russia’s war against Ukraine. The Ukrainian president also expressed gratitude for continued U.S. support, emphasizing that Ukraine remembers every step of American assistance, “from Javelins to Patriots.”
The leaders discussed measures that could contribute to achieving peace and protecting lives. Zelenskyy briefed Trump on the current situation at the front and said Ukraine’s position has strengthened in recent months.
Both sides agreed to continue their discussions during a meeting on the sidelines of the upcoming G7 summit. Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine has “some good ideas” that could help advance peace efforts and improve security.
