Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss ways to revive the negotiation process aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine, UATV English reports.
According to Budanov, the two sides reviewed the current diplomatic situation and coordinated possible steps to intensify efforts toward renewed negotiations. Fidan also briefed the Ukrainian side on Türkiye’s mediation initiatives aimed at facilitating a sustainable peace process.
The talks focused separately on attitudes within Russia’s political elites toward the continuation or potential end of the war.
Budanov said the two officials also assessed how Ukraine’s long-range strikes are affecting public and political sentiment in Russia, as well as the country’s economic stability and internal political processes.
The meeting comes as Türkiye continues efforts to facilitate renewed diplomacy. Turkish officials have also expressed readiness to contribute to future international security guarantees for Ukraine, including potentially leading their maritime component.
