There will also be a personal exhibition by Dineo Seshee Bopape, the winner of the Future Generation Art Prize of 2017, Khmarochos reported.

Both exhibitions are nominated for the Pinchuk Art Centre Prize 2018, which is awarded to young Ukrainian artists under the age of 35. The competition was founded in 2008.

This year, the organizers received over 600 applications, out of which 20 artists were shortlisted. Each participant has created artwork especially for the exhibition.

According to the curator of the exhibition, Tatiana Kochubinska, a wide range of topics is depicted in the artworks.

“Every artist makes an independent statement. You can identify several thematic lines. Firstly, our sociopolitical reality, and secondly, futuristic projects based on new technology and virtual reality,” Kochubinska said.

The results of the competition will be announced in April. The winner will receive a cash reward of UAH 250,000 ($9,235) and will be shortlisted for the Future Generation Art Prize 2019.
