WHO creates a new group to find out the origin of COVID-19

The World Health Organization (WHO) plans to set up a new group of experts to determine the origin of the coronavirus. It will be called the International Scientific Advisory Group on the Origin of New Pathogens (SAGO), UA informs. 

The WHO also hopes to continue previous missions to China to study the virus.

The organization called on governments to cooperate to expedite research into the origins of COVID-19.

“The International Scientific Advisory Group on the Origin of New Pathogens is a new expert research group tasked with advising WHO on the development of a global framework for the systematic study of the emergence of new pathogens with pandemic potential. It will support the early development of coronavirus research” – the WHO explained.
