Ukraine continues its systematic campaign against Russia’s oil production and refining sector. As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced today, June 25, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck three energy facilities on the territory of the aggressor state, UATV English reports.
According to the president, Ukraine will continue conducting long-range strikes to compel the Russian leadership to return to the negotiating table.
“Our long-range operations are consistent, precise responses to Russia’s prolongation of the war and its attacks on Ukrainian cities and communities. Last night, units of the Defense Forces struck the Poltavskaya oil depot in Russia’s Krasnodar region. The target was located about 300 kilometers from the front line. This morning, the Security Service of Ukraine struck two oil refineries in Ufa — Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim and Bashneft-Novoil. These targets were 1,500 kilometers from the front line,” Zelenskyy said.
The president stressed that it is time for the Kremlin to return to the language of diplomacy rather than continue trying to buy time.
“We are carrying out our long-range sanctions plan. The Russians should start thinking about real diplomacy instead of trying once again to deceive someone or gain more time. The war must be brought to an end,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian drone strikes on the Moscow Oil Refinery inflicted such extensive damage that the facility could remain out of operation for at least six months. The largest fuel supplier to the Moscow region halted operations following two Ukrainian drone attacks in June.
