Vladyslav Faraponov, an Americanist and head of the Institute of American Studies think tank, has joined the Ukrainian broadcasting team. He will be responsible for the content and development of the English-language web portals The Gaze and UATV.English, which are part of the state-owned Multimedia Platform for Foreign Broadcasting of Ukraine.
Vladyslav Faraponov will be responsible for the development and implementation of the content strategy of the English-language web portals, coordination of the editorial team, interaction with external authors, communication with the audience of The Gaze and UATV.English websites and social networks, cooperation of these brands with international media, interaction with diplomatic circles, expert and public communities.
‘To be honest, I accepted this offer without hesitation – I saw it as both a professional challenge and an important mission. Telling the world about Ukraine in an understandable language is both easy, because many people are already doing it, and difficult, because it is necessary to constantly improve approaches to distribution. That’s why it was a matter of honour for me to join the foreign language broadcasting, in particular, to work for the English-speaking audience,’ said Vladyslav Faraponov.
As an analyst, he specialises in Ukrainian-American relations, US foreign and domestic policy, is the chairman and founder of the Institute of American Studies think tank, and has worked as an analyst and project coordinator at Internews Ukraine.
