The USA calls on Russia to release Nariman Dhezlalov the first deputy chairman of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis and those who were detained on September 3 and 4 in the occupied Crimea.

This is reported by UA with the reference to the statement released on the website of the U.S. Department of State.

“The United States strongly condemns the September 4 detention of the Deputy Chairman of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis, Nariman Dhezlalov, and at least 45 other Crimean Tatars by Russian occupation authorities in Crimea.  We call on the Russian occupation authorities to release them immediately” – the document reads.

The statement notes that the United States confirms that Crimea is Ukraine, and is steadfastly to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. This was emphasized during the Crimean Platform summit on August 23.
