Ukraine has held consultations with its international partners and identified additional air defense systems and interceptor missiles that could be supplied to strengthen the country’s defenses.

According to UATV English, this was announced by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi.

“During the president’s recent visits to London and his meetings with a number of allies, several new decisions on air defense were reached. Our number one priority now is to implement these decisions as quickly as possible.

Ukraine has managed to identify a number of additional capabilities, including both systems and interceptors. Additional assets have been found that require financial resources. Ukraine is actively working to secure this funding, and part of the necessary resources has already been identified.

Once everything is finalized, we hope these assets—both the systems themselves and the interceptor missiles—can be delivered to Ukraine quickly,” Tykhyi said.

According to the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ukraine has also identified stocks of interceptor missiles that are approaching the end of their service life and could potentially be transferred instead of being disposed of.

“These missiles could also be obtained for Ukraine. We are currently conducting active negotiations to secure them. Once their service life expires, such missiles normally have to be returned to the manufacturer or destroyed. We are proposing that they be transferred to Ukraine instead,” Tykhyi explained.

He added that the discussions involve both Patriot PAC-3 and Patriot PAC-2 interceptors, as well as other types of missile-defense systems.
