Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo missiles struck a military plant in Cheboksary that supplies the Russian military with components for drones and missiles.
The head of state announced the strike on Telegram, UATV English reports.
“We continue to apply Ukrainian long-range sanctions against Russian military facilities and the oil industry. In particular, last night Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingos struck a military plant in Cheboksary that supplies the occupying army with components for drones and missiles. I thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their precision,” Zelenskyy said.
He also reported that the Kuibyshev Refinery in Russia’s Samara Region was hit overnight. The facility is located more than 900 kilometers from the front line.
The president expressed special gratitude to Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces of Ukraine, Unmanned Systems Forces, and Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine.
“We also achieved entirely justified responses by the Security Service of Ukraine against two oil infrastructure facilities in the Vladimir region, located 700 kilometers away,” Zelenskyy added.
According to reports, at least three fuel-and-energy and military-industrial facilities in Russia were targeted overnight and during the morning of June 10.
Open-source analysts from ASTRA confirmed a strike on the VNIIR-Progress facility in Cheboksary. Local residents reported several air raid alerts and delayed notifications from local authorities.
Videos published on Telegram channels reportedly show the first moments after the strike on the facility’s administrative building, while another clip captures smoke rising above the same defense enterprise from a different angle.
