Ukraine’s Parliament plans extraordinary session on Crimean Platform

Ukrainian parliamentarians plan to initiate an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada dedicated to the “Crimean Platform” on August 23.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov announced this at a briefing after the meeting of the Coordination Board, Ukrinform reports.

“If we are talking about the work of the Verkhovna Rada, there will definitely be a solemn meeting on Independence Day, and an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is planned for August 23, during the Crimean Platform. I think that it will be supported by MPs, they will initiate it in order to adopt an appropriate resolution, a resolution related to the Crimean Platform. I think that more information will appear soon” – the chairman of the parliament said.

Razumkov noted that there were no initiatives from the people’s deputies regarding the continuation of the 5th session of parliament for another plenary week.

Earlier, High Representative of the European Union Josep Borrell confirmed his participation in the “Crimean Platform”.
