Ukraine and the European Union have signed a Memorandum on Strategic Partnership in the Raw Materials Sector and a corresponding roadmap.
UA reports this with reference to the Government portal.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Vice President of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič signed the document on July 13.
“By initiating a strategic partnership with the EU in the field of critical raw materials and batteries, which will be enshrined in a Memorandum, we agree to join our efforts and work together with the EU to develop a green economy, create new business opportunities and jobs” – Shmyhal noted.
Maroš Šefčovič stressed that Ukraine and the EU are opening a new page in bilateral partnership.
Denis Shmyhal noted that the Ukrainian industry can become a serious partner for European companies.
“By increasing our own production of ‘minerals of the future’ and fuel and energy minerals, increasing exports and reducing mineral imports, the potential for efficient use of Ukraine’s subsoil could reach more than $400 billion over the next 10 years” – he said.
The Prime Minister added that the integrated development of critical materials can attract $ 1,000,000,000 in investments to Ukraine already at the first stage.
