Two Have Died from the Flu in Ukraine

Since the beginning of the flu season, two people in Ukraine have died of influenza complications, the Health Ministry’s press service reports.

The ministry states that neither victim was vaccinated, reports Ukraine.

In total, between December 30, 2019 and January 5, 2020, 101,175 people fell ill with flu and ARVI, 65.4% of whom were children under the age of 17.

The Health Ministry clarifies that the incidence rate was 264.6 people per 100,000 population, which is 44.5% less than the epidemic threshold in Ukraine.
