The World Bank will give Ukraine $200 million loan for modernization of the Institutions of higher education

The World Bank‘s Board of Executive Directors has approved a $200 million project to support the Government of Ukraine in improving the efficiency, quality and transparency of the higher education system.

This is reported by UATV with reference to DW.

It is noted, that the project “Improvement of higher education in Ukraine for the sake of results” will contribute to improving the quality of higher education, increasing the level of its compliance with the needs of the labor market, the stability of the educational system and the continuity of the educational process in the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Projects, aimed at the modernization of higher education institutions and research laboratories, as well as digital infrastructure for the organization of training in free economic education using distance methods, will be funded.

The project will be implemented over 5 years by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, which will be responsible for the overall coordination.

The World Bank will provide $100 million to restore the economy of Donbas.
