The House of Representatives Committee on Rules has approved amendments to the draft US defense budget for 2022. According to it, military assistance to Ukraine is increased by USD 50 million.

It is reported by UA with the reference to the Voice of America.

Sanctions against Nord Stream 2, the use of titanium from Ukraine, as well as new sanctions against Russia and Russian oligarchs, officials and media are among the proposals of the congressmen.

In addition, the bill provides for the provision of USD 300 million in defense assistance to Ukraine, and also proposes to increase the presence of American troops on the eastern flank of NATO – in Poland, Romania and the Baltic countries.

Approval of the amendments means that they have been added to the bill for the US defense budget for 2022. Further, the project must be approved by the United States House of Representatives. For final approval, it is necessary that a draft with the same content be adopted in the Senate. The law comes into force after being signed by the President of the United States.
