The President signed a decree on the establishment of cyber troops

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has implemented the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, according to which cyber troops should be created in Ukraine.

UA reports this with reference to Presidential Decree №446/2021, published on the website of the Office of the President.

According to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, the Cabinet of Ministers must calculate how much resources should be spent on the creation and operation of cyber troops. The number of cyber troops should also be determined, and what should be the ratio of servicemen, employees of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as well as those enlisted in the reserve, reservists and other categories of persons there.

In two months, the Cabinet of Ministers is to submit to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the creation of cyber troops within the Ministry of Defense.

The President also signed a decree approving Ukraine’s cybersecurity strategy.

To remind, in Ukraine they plan to open new university where cybersecurity will be taught. The program of the future university is connected with not only cybersecurity in the digital space, but also security in other areas important for Ukraine.
