The number of officially unemployed has decreased by a third in Ukraine

As of August 16, 2021, 315 thousand unemployed citizens were registered in Ukraine – 36% less than a year ago.

UA reports this with reference to the Government portal.

According to the Minister of Economy of Ukraine Oleksiy Lyubchenko, the decrease in the number of unemployed by 179 thousand is the result of the introduction of government programs to support economic and business development.

To remind, in the second quarter of 2021, Ukraine’s real GDP increased by 5.4% compared to the second quarter of last year. Compared to the first quarter of 2021, Ukraine’s real GDP decreased by 0.8%, taking into account the seasonal factor.
