More than 1,500 Russian occupiers were killed and wounded as a result of a raid by Russian volunteers in the Belgorod and Kursk regions, Alexey Baranovsky, a fighter of the “Freedom of Russia” legion, said during a press conference, FREEDOM reports.

Thanks to the breakthrough of the Russian border on March 12, 2024, fighters of the “Freedom of Russia” legion, the “Russian Volunteer Corps” and the “Siberian Battalion” managed to liberate two settlements in the Belgorod region from the Putin regime. In addition, the Russian occupiers suffered significant losses of equipment – 171 units, and 37 Russian military personnel were captured.

“We were able, without exaggeration, to open a second front and transfer full-fledged combat operations to enemy territory. Now the theater of military operations is not only the territory of Ukraine. We managed to ease the pressure of the Kremlin’s military machine on other sectors of the front. The front has stabilized at the moment,” said the commander and founder of the RDK.

Fighting has continued for more than a week in Kursk and the Belgorod region, accompanied, in particular, by attacks on military installations of the Russian occupiers.

Breaking through the border of the Russian Federation made it possible to disrupt the offensive of the Kremlin army, which was planned to begin after Putin’s re-election in pseudo-elections, according to the “Freedom of Russia” legion.

“Our operation, in a military sense, thwarted the offensive plans of the Russian army. They were forced to transfer significant forces, including from the Kharkov direction, from the Kupyansky direction, in order to simply hold the Belgorod and Kursk regions,” said Alexey Baranovsky.

The operation of volunteer battalions continues today. Thus, in response to Moscow’s massive night attack on Kyiv on March 21, Russian volunteers carried out drone strikes on Belgorod. As a result of the attack on a military facility in the city, nine Russian servicemen were eliminated. The ultimate goal of the operations of Russian volunteers is to eliminate the Putin regime in Russia.

“As this operation showed, even tactical aviation is not enough for us to turn away from the path we have taken. It is precisely the dismantling of the Russian government that we have the same opinion about. What is now trying to rule Russia should not exist. What format there will be is no longer a military question, but a civilian one,” noted a fighter of the “Siberian Battalion” with the call sign “Kholod”.

However, the primary task of Russian volunteers is to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine in defeating the Russian aggressor, the speaker of the “Russian Volunteer Corps” emphasized.

Earlier, a military expert, reserve officer of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrei Kramarov said that so far the success of raids by Russian volunteers on the territory of the Russian Federation lies in how large losses the Russian army will suffer: the higher the number of deaths among the Russian military, the less likely it is that new soldiers will go to a full-scale war against Ukraine.
