Ukraine and NATO have agreed to intensify cooperation to make their Special Operations Forces (SOF) compatible with each other.

This was announced by the Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Viktor Muzhenko, on Facebook.

“With the NATO Commander Vice Admiral, Colin Kilrain, we agreed to intensify efforts for the further development of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces,” Muzhenko wrote.

On March 3, 2018, President Petro Poroshenko approved new regulations for the SOF.

SOF is a separate part of the Armed Forces. It includes special-purpose, informational and psychological units. SOF consists of highly-trained specialists, who are invloved in sabotage and reconnaissance on the frontlines.
