Russians’ dissatisfaction with Putin continues to grow steadily, Zelenskyy says after receiving intelligence briefings

Russians’ dissatisfaction with the actions of the Kremlin dictator continues to rise, and Putin is already being prepared for the possibility that domestic protests in Russia will not subside. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made the statement on June 14 following intelligence briefings, UATV English reports.

“We understand that Putin is rarely provided with completely truthful and unembellished information. However, even the information contained in the documents that reach him allows for certain conclusions. In particular, the projected indicators of Russians’ dissatisfaction with Putin are expected to continue rising steadily, and he is already being conditioned to accept that this growth in discontent cannot be stopped and will not reach a plateau before September, when parliamentary elections are scheduled in Russia,” Zelenskyy said.

According to the President, support for Russia’s ruling party is also showing a consistent downward trend. This, he noted, could mean that the Kremlin will need to rely on significantly greater electoral manipulation.

“There are also reports of a substantial increase in protest sentiment across Russia’s regions. We believe these assessments do not yet take into account potential developments in June, July, and August, which are likely to further affect the situation inside Russia,” Zelenskyy added.

He emphasized that legitimate international pressure on Russia over its war against Ukraine will continue to increase.

“By September, Putin will be facing significantly worse indicators. Unfortunately, every public and private peace proposal we have put forward has been met only with statements about continuing his war. Russia’s internal situation should point to the opposite conclusion — that peace is necessary. Ukraine is proposing negotiations aimed at achieving a dignified peace. Clearly, current trends are unlikely to change, and over time this could mean that an agreement will have to be reached with someone else in Russia — someone who is not isolated from reality,” Zelenskyy concluded.

Earlier, Zelenskyy reported that over the past week Russia launched 1,920 attack drones, 1,790 guided aerial bombs, and 17 missiles of various types against Ukraine. The aggressor state continued daily attacks on civilian infrastructure.
