Defense Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak has held a meeting with the Canadian delegation as part of the Sea Breeze 2019 international naval exercises, the ministry’s press service has reported according to Ukrinform.
“Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak has met with the Canadian delegation headed by Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine, Mr. Roman Waschuk, on board the Royal Canadian Navy frigate Toronto, which is participating in the Sea Breeze 2019 international naval exercises. Poltorak has thanked the Canadian side for the consistent support for Ukraine during the armed aggression from the Russian Federation,” the report says.
The Ukrainian defense minister stressed the importance and effectiveness of UNIFIER training mission for further integration of Ukraine’s Armed Forces into NATO.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the issues of cooperation in the military and technical sphere.
