Ukraine will continue expanding its long-range strikes against military targets inside Russia in response to the aggressor’s daily attacks on Ukrainian civilian regions, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during the Yedyni Novyny national telethon, UATV English reports.

He stressed that Russia’s aggression must be met with a response and that this response is already being increasingly felt inside Russia itself.

“This year, we started hitting them where it hurts. There must be a response to their fury. They must know it, and our people must know it as well: look, you did this yourselves, and now you are receiving a response. This is very important. It is an element of justice that Russia still does not face from the world,” Zelenskyy said.

The president explained that Ukraine’s Defense Forces are gradually bringing the war back onto the territory of the aggressor state by striking military factories, oil depots, and other strategic facilities.

“They strike us every day, and we will respond every day. Naturally, this response will continue to grow with each passing day,” he stated.

Zelenskyy cited the example of a Ukrainian drone strike on an oil refinery in Tyumen, located more than 2,000 kilometers from Ukraine’s border. According to him, Ukraine’s newest drones are capable of flying more than 3,000 kilometers, enabling strikes deep inside Russian territory.

The president emphasized that Ukraine will continue developing such capabilities in order to maintain long-range strike options and ensure that the aggressor faces consequences for its actions.

As previously reported, the seaport of Mariupol, currently under Russian occupation, was left without electricity following a joint operation by Ukraine’s Defense Forces. The operation reportedly damaged electrical substations, radar equipment, repair infrastructure, a control tower, and fuel storage facilities.
