The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has destroyed a Russian Tu-95 strategic bomber in Engels, Saratov region, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, UATV English reports.
“I am grateful to our warriors for their precision. Once again, there were successful long-range sanctions against Russia for this war. In particular, the SBU destroyed a Tu-95 military aircraft in Engels that was used for Russian missile strikes against our country,” Zelenskyy said.
According to the president, the target was located approximately 800 kilometers from Ukraine’s state border.
Zelenskyy added that Ukrainian Defense Forces also struck facilities belonging to Russia’s oil industry, as well as designated targets in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
“We are defending ourselves justly and actively. We are increasing the price Russia pays for its aggression against our country and our people,” the president said.
