Before the very start of the meeting, unplanned changes occurred. According to the planned scenario, opponents should have been stationed at the opposite sides of the stadium, where podiums were built for each of them in advance.

A few minutes before the start of the debate, together with his family and a group of supporters, current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, left the stage and spearheaded to the opposite side of the elliptical field.

The encounter took place on one of the stages, the one that was originally intended for the candidate Volodymyr Zelensky’s speech.

According to the meeting regulations, which were agreed upon by candidates’ staffs, each candidate had the opportunity to pose three questions to their opponent. The one-minute term was determined for the questions, four minutes for each answer.

According to the results of the coin flipping, the candidate Volodymyr Zelensky started first. The President of Ukraine took his turn second. At the end of the allotted time, each of the candidates saved a minute from the allotted 36 minutes.

Question from Zelensky:

Don’t you feel yourself ashamed?

Question from Poroshenko:

Are you ready to do everything to ensure that your partners will be cut off from state resources and power after you are elected as the president?

In conclusion, each of the candidates had 5 minutes for the final word.

President Poroshenko proposed to move from an informal meeting to a real debate, which is to be held in Public television by the law on presidential elections and is scheduled for 9:00pm Kyiv.
