Macron plans to host Xi Jinping in Paris this spring — POLITICO

French President Emmanuel Macron and Chinese President Xi Jinping may meet in Paris in May.

That’s according to POLITICO and Bloomberg, citing Brussels officials.

The visit scheduled in May, which, however, can change, will mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and China.

According to the POLITICO article, China will push their narrative of inviting Russia to the Global Peace Summit narrative or they will not approve the peace talks format.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry claimed it would “support [for] the timely convening of a peace conference with equal participation of all parties.”

Economical issues, related to the war in Ukraine and not, will be a major part of the alleged meeting.

Many Chinese companies suffer from the EU sanctions over their ties with Russia. In addition, China’s electric-vehicle industry is another problem for European regulators.

Last year, China claimed they were working toward a solution to the war in Ukraine.

It was previously reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz would visit China in April.
