Dozens of people detained in Belarus for comments on shooting in Minsk – human rights activists

Fifty people have been detained in Belarus over the past two days. All – for their comments on social networks.

The human rights center “Viasna” informs.

People shared their impressions of the shootout that took place on 28 September. Then the Belarusian security forces broke into the apartment of IT manager Andrei Zeltser. The reason – suspicions that people associated with terrorism live there.

According to official information, Zeltser opened fire and shot one of the officers of the State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus, and then died during the shootout.

State channels of the republic showed the edited video. That video was commented by the Belarusians.

All the detainees are accused of insulting government officials and inciting hatred.
