Celebrating the Architecture of Ukrainian Universities: Part One

Berdyansk State Pedagogical University is our first in a series about the architecture of some Ukrainian universities. It used to be a boys gymnasium, until it became a university in 1932. It is built in an awe-inspiring medieval style. The building sustained damage during World War II, but it did not lose its grandeur. Part of the building also used to be a church. The university building is the only architectural heritage site in Berdyansk.
