The Foreign Ministry denied information about the hijacking of a Ukrainian plane in Kabul. The information spread in the media about the hijacking of a Ukrainian plane in Kabul (Afghanistan) is false.

UA reports this with reference to the comment by spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleh Nikolenko.

“There are no captured Ukrainian planes in Kabul or elsewhere. Information about the hijacked plane, which is spread by some media, is not true” – Nikolenko said.

According to him, all the planes that Ukraine used to evacuate citizens from Afghanistan returned safely to the country. So far, 256 people have been evacuated by three evacuation flights.

On August 17, 120 Ukrainians appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to leave Afghanistan, which was under the control of the Taliban. There is a plane at Kabul airport that is supposed to take Ukrainian citizens out, but it cannot take off due to a ban on flights for civilian aircraft.
