120 Ukrainians have applied to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a desire to leave the territory of Afghanistan, which has come under the control of the Taliban. There is a plane at the Kabul airport that is supposed to take out Ukrainian citizens, but it cannot take off due to the ban on flights for civil aircraft.

UA reports this with reference to the “Ukrainska Pravda”.

“As of morning, 120 Ukrainian citizens and their family members expressed a desire to evacuate from Afghanistan. We are talking about Ukrainians of Afghan origin and people who work under private contracts. Communication is maintained with everyone” – said Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Oleh Nikolenko.

Ban on flights for civil aircraft is in force across the territory of Afghanistan, and only military aircraft can receive permits. The situation at the airport is uncontrollable now.

On August 16, Ukraine evacuated 79 people from five countries from Afghanistan.

As reported, on August 15, the Taliban entered the suburbs of Kabul. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani resigned and left the country. The Taliban said they would wait for the final withdrawal of foreign troops before starting formation of a new government.
