In June, the FREEДОМ audience showed interest in successful strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the occupiers’ logistics routes; the G7 summit and the meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump; the open letter of the President of Ukraine to Putin; Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s ultimatum to Alexander Lukashenko; anti-imperial materials by FREEДОМ. КАВКАЗ; the failure of pro-Russian forces in the elections in Armenia; and the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk. Audience engagement in the North Caucasus, Belarus and Armenia was high. In addition to Moscow and St. Petersburg, the top cities included Grozny, Makhachkala, Nalchik, Tbilisi, Yerevan, Minsk, Riga, Tashkent and Almaty.
In June, FREEДОМ content on international broadcasting platforms in social networks and messengers — YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Telegram, X and WhatsApp — generated 81.6 million views*, including 36.4 million on FREEДОМ YouTube channels** (87.8% from abroad); 15.5 million in total on Facebook; 15.3 million in total on the FREEДОМ. КАВКАЗ and FREEДОМ Instagram accounts; 7.1 million on Telegram; and 7.2 million in total on the FREEДОМ and FREEДОМ. КАВКАЗ TikTok accounts.
The total number of views of FREEДОМ content on the digital platforms of SE “MPIU” and its partners during the month amounted to 152.8 million (15.65 billion over the entire period of operation***). During the month, the FREEДОМ mobile application for Android and iOS recorded more than 257,000 visits. The FREEДОМ website received more than 1.8 million visits in May. The reach of posts in the communities of FREEДОМ YouTube channels increased to 18 million, which is 25% more than in May, when it stood at 14.4 million.
The highest number of views — 1.8 million — was received by a video on the FREEДОМ.NEWS FEED YouTube channel about how Ukrainian forces established fire control over the Russian army’s logistics routes and significantly complicated the use of the land corridor for supplying troops: 75.4% of viewers were international, including 32.7% from Russia, 6% from Kazakhstan, 5.7% from Germany and 5.5% from the United States. On the main FREEДОМ YouTube channel, the video received another 640,000 views. In total, the video generated more than 3 million views across Ukraine’s international broadcasting platforms.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s ultimatum to Alexander Lukashenko demanding the dismantling within a week of equipment that helps Russia adjust strikes on Ukraine also caused a strong response. On the main FREEДОМ YouTube channel, the video was viewed 400,000 times: 95% of the views came from international audiences, including 36% from Russia and 15% from Belarus. News about Belarus switching off transmitters that helped the Russians strike Ukraine also received high viewership. The share of views from Belarus for these reports ranged from 10% to 15%, while the top cities included Minsk, Gomel, Brest, Riga, Vilnius, Vitebsk and Grodno.
Content devoted to Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s open letter to Putin received more than 500,000 views on YouTube. In the letter, the President of Ukraine stressed that the war was the Kremlin leader’s personal choice, that it was increasingly exhausting Russian society, and that Russian losses on the front would only grow. More than 90% of the audience for these videos came from abroad, with more than one-third from Russia. The greatest audience attention was drawn by the material about Zelenskyy’s readiness to meet Putin face-to-face to end the war. This statement received around 310,000 views on TikTok and more than 300,000 views on the FREEДОМ Facebook page.
Russian-speaking audiences focused on FREEДОМ materials about the participation of the President of Ukraine in the G7 summit in the French city of Évian-les-Bains, negotiations with the President of the United States and the leaders of other countries. Footage of the meeting between international leaders received more than 420,000 views, with 88.5% from international audiences and 36% from Russia. Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s comment that partners unanimously support Ukraine and recognize its leadership in many areas received 390,000 views: 92.8% from abroad, including 45% from Russia, 6% each from Germany and the United States, and 5% each from Belarus and Kazakhstan. Materials about Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s negotiations with Donald Trump and the U.S. president’s high assessment of Ukraine’s military successes also had up to 95% international viewers and up to 45% viewers from Russia. In total, content about the Ukrainian aspects of the G7 summit received more than 1.8 million views across various FREEДОМ platforms.
A FREEДОМ stream with Adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podoliak about Putin’s unwillingness to negotiate and the need to increase international pressure on Russia was watched live more than 450,000 times on the FREEДОМ.ЛЕНТА НОВОСТЕЙ YouTube channel: 72% of views came from international audiences, including 31.7% from Russia, 5.4% from Germany, 4.5% from Belarus and 4.5% from Kazakhstan. Across all FREEДОМ platforms, materials based on Mykhailo Podoliak’s interview received more than 800,000 views****.
Statements and speeches by world leaders demonstrating support for Ukraine traditionally attract significant audience interest. One of the most resonant items across FREEДОМ platforms in June was German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s speech in the Bundestag, in which he sharply criticized members of the pro-Russian Alternative for Germany party. The speech received more than 500,000 views, with 79.1% from international audiences, including 21.5% from Russia and 15.8% from Germany.
One of the key international topics followed by FREEДОМ viewers was the Ukraine Recovery Conference, URC 2026, in Gdańsk, Poland. Content on this topic generated more than 700,000 views across FREEДОМ digital platforms, up to 95% of which came from international audiences. The materials attracted the greatest interest among users from Russia, Kazakhstan, Germany, Uzbekistan, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Belarus. In the context of developing Ukrainian-Polish relations, excerpts from an interview with the President of Ukraine recorded ahead of URC 2026 received more than 300,000 views on YouTube. In the interview, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that political struggle should not destroy good-neighborly relations and that Poland’s security is inseparably linked to a strong Ukraine. International audiences accounted for 94% of views, including 36% from Russia and 10% from Belarus. The full interview received more than 250,000 views in total.
A special topic for FREEДОМ in June was the information coverage of the parliamentary elections in Armenia. Thematic content across FREEДОМ platforms received more than 3 million views, including more than 1 million each on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. More than 90% of views came from international audiences, with the share of views from Armenia ranging from 9% to 55%. The video about Armenia’s victory over the Kremlin generated the strongest response. On FREEДОМ.КАВКАЗ Facebook, it was viewed more than 440,000 times, with Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Lithuania among the top countries. It was viewed another 1.1 million times on FREEДОМ.КАВКАЗ Instagram, where 72% of views came from Russia, 9% from Kazakhstan and 5% from Belarus.
In June, the FREEДОМ.КАВКАЗ digital platforms continued to demonstrate a high level of engagement among the target audience, generating more than 26.3 million views in total, including 10.4 million on Instagram, 11.1 million on Facebook, 2.2 million on TikTok and 2.6 million on YouTube.
More than 90% of views came from international audiences, primarily users from Russia, as well as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and other countries in the region. The geography of views — Moscow, Grozny, Makhachkala, Nalchik, Tashkent, Bishkek, Minsk, Almaty, Baku, Yerevan and Tbilisi — indicates stable reach among audiences in the Caucasus, Russian regions and the post-Soviet space. The materials that generated the strongest response in June concerned discrimination against people from the Caucasus and Central Asia in Russia, especially in Moscow and St. Petersburg. For example, a comment by Ruslan Kutayev, President of the Assembly of the Peoples of the North Caucasus, received 3.1 million views on Instagram: 97.1% from international audiences, including 50% from Russia, 17% from Kazakhstan and 12% from Uzbekistan. The same comment received another 2.8 million views on Facebook. A report on how Russia begins searching for culprits among Muslims during difficult times was viewed more than 900,000 times across various platforms, including more than 390,000 views on Facebook and more than 420,000 on Instagram, where 67% of viewers were from Russia, 10% from Uzbekistan, 8% from Kazakhstan and 6% from Tajikistan.
Footage of the meeting between the President of Ukraine and Ichkerian volunteers serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine received more than 4 million views: 2.8 million on Instagram, where 81% of views came from Russia, and 1.2 million on Facebook. Materials about the crimes and privileges of the Chechen elite, as well as topics related to the right of the peoples of the Caucasus to self-organization, historical memory and common challenges uniting the region, traditionally remained highly resonant. High viewership and engagement figures confirm that FREEДОМ. КАВКАЗ content meets the information needs of the target audience, effectively promotes an agenda alternative to Russian state propaganda and contributes to the spread of anti-colonial sentiment among the peoples of the Caucasus.
