NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte commented on the latest Russian attack on Ukraine, calling on allies to ensure support for Kyiv.

He stated this at a press conference before the Alliance summit in Ankara, UATV English reports.

He noted that despite the fact that Ukraine is changing the dynamics in its favor, Russia continues its attacks.

“But they need our continued support, especially in the field of air defense. Russia continues missile attacks on Ukrainian cities; just last night there was another horrific attack,” Rutte said, adding that his thoughts are now with the victims and the loved ones of those killed.

“NATO allies and partners must continue to ensure that Ukraine receives what it needs. Let me be clear. All allies must make efforts so that our support for Ukraine continues to arrive. After all, your security is so closely linked to our own,” he stated.

As is known, on the night of July 6, Russia carried out another massive strike on Ukraine. As a result of Russian strikes on Kyiv, as of now, 15 killed and about 60 wounded are known.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for strong decisions on protecting the Ukrainian sky at the NATO summit after another Russian shelling.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, after Russia’s massive strike on Kyiv, stated that Ukraine’s main message to the participants of the NATO summit is a call to protect Ukrainian children from Russian ballistic missiles.
