Emergency response efforts are continuing in Kyiv and Kharkiv following Russian strikes. During the night, Russia launched more than 60 missiles at the capital alone. In total, 70 missiles and 611 drones were fired at Ukraine. As of now, four people have been confirmed killed and 28 injured in Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on June 15, UATV English reports.

“Following the Russian strike on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, the Dormition Cathedral caught fire — a church whose history dates back to the 11th century. This is one of Russia’s largest crimes against Christian culture to date. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service has already extinguished the fire on the cathedral’s roof.

In Kharkiv, Russia carried out a secondary strike against our rescuers who were extinguishing a fire at the site of an earlier attack on an enterprise. As of now, five people have been confirmed killed. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Nine people were injured.

In Dnipro, Russia struck the grounds of a railway station, a college, and several enterprises,” Zelenskyy said.

The President noted that Russia also attacked other Ukrainian cities and communities, including in the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Mykolaiv regions.

“This is how Russia demonstrates to the world its intention to continue the war. It is very important that the Group of Seven countries, which are gathering for their summit, provide a decisive and meaningful response: more pressure on the aggressor and more air defense assistance for Ukraine, particularly anti-ballistic capabilities. I thank everyone who is helping us protect lives,” Zelenskyy concluded.

Earlier reports confirmed that at least four people were killed and 25 injured, including two children, during Russia’s massive overnight attack on Kyiv on June 15. Recovery and emergency operations are ongoing.
