U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy will take part in a working session of the Group of Seven (G7) on Tuesday, June 16. This was reported by UATV English, citing Euractiv.
The issue of Ukraine will be discussed during the first working session, in which Zelenskyy will participate. European leaders hope to coordinate a common position on further support for Ukraine and discuss possible conditions for the start of a negotiation process between Kyiv and Moscow.
The participants of the meeting also intend to confirm the continuation of sanctions pressure on Russia.
In addition to the war in Ukraine, G7 leaders will discuss the situation in the Middle East and issues related to the security of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Group of Seven summit will take place in Évian-les-Bains from June 15 to June 17.
Earlier, it was reported that the leaders of United Kingdom, France, and Germany intend to discuss with U.S. President Donald Trump an updated approach to possible peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. This is planned to take place during consultations at the G7 summit.
