World leaders and foreign ministers reacted to Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine during the night of May 24, UATV English reports.

Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney wrote on X that his country strongly condemns today’s large-scale Russian missile and drone attacks on civilian targets in Kyiv.

“We call on Russia to immediately stop these strikes and end this illegal war of aggression. They only prolong human suffering and do nothing to change the fact that Russia is losing this war,” Carney wrote, adding that Canada will continue to work closely with international partners to ensure a just and lasting peace for Ukraine and Europe.

President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs stated that Russia continues its terrorist war against Ukraine by once again attacking civilian infrastructure and committing new war crimes.

“Russia will be held accountable. Meanwhile, we must strengthen support for Ukraine to stop the war and stop Russia,” his statement said.

Foreign Minister of Estonia Margus Tsahkna said that deliberate strikes on residential areas and civilian infrastructure are unacceptable acts of terror. He supported the statement of his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha that “we need concrete actions right now to raise the price of war for the aggressor.”

“This is the best way to express solidarity with the Ukrainian people. Estonia stands with Ukraine until victory,” he wrote on X.

President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda wrote on X that Russia’s latest large-scale strike on Kyiv once again proves “that terror against civilians remains the Kremlin’s main instrument of war.”

According to him, these attacks on civilian infrastructure “once again expose Russia’s brutality and its disregard for human life.”

“Russia will be held accountable. And we will continue supporting Ukraine for as long as it takes,” he emphasized.

President of Moldova Maia Sandu called Russia’s massive attack on Kyiv a war crime.

“Killing civilians is a war crime. The response of the free world must be to increase support for Ukraine and intensify pressure on Russia. Moldova stands with Ukraine and its brave people,” her statement said.

President of Finland Alexander Stubb, commenting on the attack, stressed that “once again residential areas and civilian infrastructure became targets.”

“This senseless war of aggression must be stopped. We must continue putting pressure on Russia’s war machine and strengthen our support for Ukraine,” Stubb stated.

Foreign Minister of Austria Beate Meinl-Reisinger said that “we are deeply outraged by Russia’s massive attack on Kyiv.”

“These attacks only underline what is at stake: Ukraine’s freedom, Europe’s security, our shared values. Russia will not break the Ukrainian people. Our support remains unwavering,” her statement said.

Foreign Minister of Albania Ferit Hoxha wrote on X that Albania strongly condemns another brutal and indiscriminate large-scale Russian attack against civilian targets in Ukraine, “demonstrating complete disregard for human life and basic human dignity.”

He stressed that this time a residential complex where Albania’s ambassador to Ukraine lives was struck, “putting his life in serious danger. This is unacceptable!”

“Targeting or endangering civilian areas and diplomatic personnel is a serious escalation and another harsh reminder of the human cost caused by Russia’s continued aggression,” he said.

Albania’s Foreign Ministry reiterated its call on Russia to immediately stop these attacks, end the war against Ukraine, fully comply with international law, and return to negotiations.

“Albania will continue to stand firmly with Ukraine and reaffirms its unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. Those responsible for these attacks must be held accountable. The Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Albania has been summoned to provide explanations,” Hoxha added.

As reported, during the night of May 24, Russia carried out another massive attack against Ukrainian cities and civilians. Ukrainian air defense neutralized 55 missiles and 549 Russian drones launched by the Russian army since the evening of May 23, with Kyiv being the primary target. Hits by 16 missiles and 51 strike UAVs were recorded at 54 locations.
