Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held a meeting in Riyadh with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud during President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to the Kingdom.
According to Sybiha, the talks focused on implementing agreements reached at the leadership level and advancing bilateral cooperation across key areas.
“I had the honor to hold bilateral talks with my counterpart on how we are putting into practice the agreements of our leaders,” he said.
The Ukrainian minister briefed his Saudi counterpart on the current frontline situation, noting that Ukraine has endured the most difficult winter in its history. The sides also discussed joint efforts toward achieving peace.
Sybiha further informed Saudi Arabia about Ukraine’s progress in Europe, including the successful unblocking of €90 billion in EU support and the adoption of the 20th package of sanctions against Russia by the European Union.
The discussions also covered strategic areas of cooperation, ranging from food security to Ukraine’s evolving role as a reliable security partner in the Middle East and beyond.
“We are ready to rapidly develop our partnership, which strengthens both of our countries,” Sybiha emphasized.
The meeting underscores Kyiv’s growing diplomatic engagement in the Gulf region, as Ukraine seeks to expand both security cooperation and economic ties with key global partners.
