U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, in her first speech after losing the presidential election, vowed to continue the fight—likely hinting at her ongoing involvement in politics.

Speaking near Howard University in Washington, Harris acknowledged that the U.S. presidential election result was not “what we wanted or fought for.”

“We must accept the outcome of this election. Earlier today, I spoke with President-elect Trump, congratulated him on his victory, and pledged support for a peaceful transition of power,” she stated.

The Vice President emphasized the importance of a peaceful transfer of power, which she said distinguishes democracy from autocracy. She also stressed that citizens’ loyalty should be to the Constitution, not to any specific party or politician.

“While I concede this election, I am not giving up on the fight that fueled this campaign—a fight for freedom, justice, opportunity, and the dignity of all people. For the ideals at the core of our nation that reflect the best of America. I will never abandon this fight,” Harris promised.

She urged her supporters to continue this struggle not only during elections but through their actions.

“Sometimes, the fight takes time. That doesn’t mean we won’t prevail. Never give up,” said the Vice President.

Earlier reports indicated that U.S. President Joe Biden also congratulated Donald Trump on his election victory and invited him to the White House.
