41st session of the UNESCO General Conference: Ukrainian delegation

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed an order on the establishment of a delegation from Ukraine to participate in the 41st session of the UNESCO General Conference to will be held from November 9 to 24, 2021 in Paris.

UA reports this with reference to the Office of the President.

According to a document published on the President’s website, the delegation will be headed by First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Head of the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO Emine Dzhaparova. Deputy Ambassador of Ukraine to France, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to UNESCO Vadym Omelchenko has been appointed her Deputy in the delegation.

In total, the delegation includes nine people representing the government and the expert community.

The President’s order also enshrines the right of the head of the delegation to make changes in the composition and involve experts to ensure the work.

By the way, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of UNESCO, 12 plane trees were planted in the National Botanical Garden of Kyiv. The trees symbolize the connection with Crimea and remind of the role of UNESCO in the process of de-occupation of the peninsula.
