President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov that Ukraine is ready to launch joint weapons production projects, particularly those aimed at strengthening security in the Black Sea region, UATV English reports.

In a message on Telegram, Zelenskyy said the discussion also focused on energy cooperation and regional energy security:

“We talked about strengthening energy cooperation and agreed on steps that will enhance energy security in our region. There are concrete decisions, and we will definitely implement them.”

The two leaders discussed defense cooperation as well, with Zelenskyy noting that the EU’s SAFE financial instrument opens many opportunities for joint projects:

“I proposed to the Prime Minister several joint production projects, including those aimed at increasing security in the Black Sea.”

Both sides agreed that Ukrainian and Bulgarian teams will now work through all the details.

Zelenskyy thanked Zhelyazkov for Bulgaria’s continued support.
