Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held his first meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, with the two leaders discussing ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and support for Ukraine, UATV English reports, citing Zelenskyy’s Telegram channel.
“I am pleased with our first meeting. We are interested in productive relations with South Korea, and today we discussed what is needed for both of our countries,” Zelenskyy said after the talks.
The Ukrainian president thanked Seoul for its recent decision to allocate a $100 million comprehensive support package for Ukraine.
“I am grateful for the recent decision to provide a $100 million comprehensive support package for our country,” he said.
Zelenskyy added that he had instructed his team to follow up on all of the initiatives discussed during the meeting to ensure their implementation.
The talks took place on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Ankara, where Ukraine continues to engage with international partners to strengthen defense cooperation, secure additional assistance, and expand long-term bilateral partnerships.
