President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Ukrainians on Constitution Day, saying the country’s Basic Law draws its true strength from the people through their struggle, work, and defense of the state.

“Today, Ukraine’s Constitution marks its 30th anniversary. For history, this is only a moment, but for Ukrainians it is an entire era of struggle and state-building. The Constitution begins with the principles of sovereignty and the inviolability of our borders. These are not merely legal terms—they are values Ukrainian soldiers defend every day,” Zelenskyy said.

The president stressed that freedom, equality, and dignity are the principles that unite Ukrainians and form the foundation of the Constitution.

Zelenskyy also noted that it was symbolic that Ukrainian defenders began Constitution Day by carrying out precise strikes against Russian military infrastructure.

According to the president, Ukrainian forces struck the Slavyansky oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, approximately 300 kilometers from the frontline, as well as an oil refinery in Russia’s Yaroslavl region, around 700 kilometers from Ukraine’s border.

“The strength of our Constitution comes from the Ukrainian people themselves—from their courage, their work, and their defense of our state,” Zelenskyy said.
